Chain Wear Notes puts the basics of Wear and care of the chain, cassette and chainrings on an e-bike drivetrain: how to tell when parts are worn, how to measure chain stretch, and how to clean and lube them, as set out in maker manuals and bike-parts makers' technical pages into plain words.

The pages draw on published material such as manufacturers' manuals and specifications, government and university pages, and encyclopedias. Each page lists the sources behind it at the bottom, along with the date it was last checked.
